Hola Señors and Señoritas!
Another season is upon us, which means more anime to run through and dabble with in my free time. I’m gonna give you the potential bangers and personal choices I’m feeling in the early moments of the Summer 2023 season. This season just so happens to provide us with the trials and tribulations of being a fucking vending machine in a magical world after being 1 of the average 13 per year to be skill issue’d by a fucking vending machine. So lets look at everything else worth watching:
As always, everything is now hyperlinked to their respective MAL page. Click the images below for more info on the shows!

Returning off its first season which did receive Anime of the Year nods from myself, The Missing Pieces is less of a Season 2, and more of a Season 1B of sorts, as the 13 episode season comprises itself of stories that didn’t make it into Season 1 that fill in blanks involving the vast cast of high school participants. I was such a fan of its only season that seeing this on deck in less than a week has me the most excited for the Summer Season.

Consider this absolute morbid curiosity at this point. Because there are some pieces of this show I cannot stand. The MC is abhorrent. The circles these five get into is worthy of second hand embarrassment. But I can’t. Stop. Watching. Don’t subject yourself to this if you haven’t slapped the first two seasons, but I’m going to keep watching until they get to the part that everyone hated. If you know you know.

The Trilogy of “Thicc thighs saves lives” is getting its anime adaptation! The up-and-down most popular of the Atelier franchise absolutely blew up in the past few years, spawning the only trilogy in the game’s history and bringing in enough of a crowd to start warranting re-making earlier titles of its earlier magical MCs. Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout mirrors the first title’s name so it’s a safe bet to believe the 1st season will cover the first game’s plot and major moments, setting up for what’ll most likely be three seasons of being able to sell more merch of Ryza. I’ve already been suckered into some of my own, let’s keep the ball rolling.

Always need to have one show I’ve never heard of to roll the dice on, so here it is: insert-corporate-pawn Saku takes in a stray cat who under circumstances I’m sure they’ll explain turns into a giant housekeeper with culinary and cleaning skills that will help Saku become a more tidy and presentable person, both physically and emotionally. This is giving me “The Helpful Fox Senko-san”-but-instead-a-cat vibes. And I loved Senko-san, so I’m hoping for some good vibes every week from here.
Also think of watching:

I don’t read or watch Rent-A-Girlfriend, but I do know what you’re talking about. That pretty much confirmed my decision never to see it myself, though I get the idea of morbid curiosity watching — I’ve seen a lot of bad movies for that reason.
I’ll also check out Ryza. I don’t know how high my hopes should be, since the other Atelier game-to-anime adaptation Escha & Logy wasn’t well-received, but maybe they’ll do better with this one. Ryza isn’t my favorite Atelier at least judging by the first game that I have played, but I still liked it, and I fully expect some good thigh shots in the anime. Otherwise, I think I’ll mostly be catching up on my backlog and stuff I need to watch from last season like Oshi no Ko.

Temper expectations because I’m really curious how much fanservice they’re gonna put on Ryza and not towards the plot. It has a 7/10 anime written all over it.
Oshi no Ko though? I’ll be writing about that season soon!
