Welcome to the Bincho Fields!

Here at Pixel Die, we love talking about games. When we aren’t actively playing or writing about what we just played, we’re often talking about them amongst ourselves. Eventually we figured, hey, why not cut out the middleman and deliver that conversation to you?

With that preamble, welcome to our first video feature: Roll for Discussion! Join Kyle, Demetri, and Sezco as they discuss Brave Fencer Musashi. Topics include their frequent misuse of the word “Bincho”, Square’s willingness to pour money into things used exactly once, the inescapable dulcet tones of Steve Blum, virtual action figures, and Sez’s unfathomable ability to circumvent puzzles by doing absolutely nothing.

Demetri: The experience of discussing games online has changed significantly over the last several years, to the point where participation in some sort of meta-conversation often supersedes the works themselves. Not here! We’re just here to play games to completion and chat about them. Whether you listen after playing along or are just curious as to what we thought, we hope it’ll entertain.

Kyle: This felt like the perfect introduction to our “book club” of sorts. Two friends who’ve never played the game (one who never even heard of it before this), and one dude who completely forgot how it showed up in his world but did plenty to leave an indelible mark now almost 30 years after its release. Fuck, I’m getting old.  I remember needing a GameShark to beat this game as a kid, and distinctively recalled specific parts in the first half of the game, but almost completely forgot the back half. Let’s dive into all the food puns you can handle and get drunk off this soda pop!

In the future, all participants in an episode will select a game they’d like to lead discussion on, and one of those games will be randomly selected to be the next episode’s subject. It’s a literal roll for discussion, see. You get it.
