I get it: the holidays are wicked expensive. Most of your money probably went to friends and family buying nonsense they don’t need or games on their Steam wishlist that they were waiting to buy on sale, only for you to beat them to the punch. But games are still coming out! Some you’ve probably missed! “But I’m poor now,” you say? No problem! I’ve got three games that are less than $5 that are worth giving a shot.
Click the pictures below to access each game on Steam! Buy the games! They’re good for you!

The creator of Helltaker finds their way back in the gaming world 3 years after Helltaker caused horny levels to rise around the globe. Back again with another puzzle game, this time collecting parts to fix reactors while avoiding ghostly apparitions and when you’re done fixing, giving them various smooches. Because hey, the ghosts are cute. You’d do it too.
Awaria is fast-paced and a quick hour’s worth of content…if you’re good at it. It might just be me, but holy God I’m dog-water at this game. I don’t even know if I wanna sniff Hard Mode because I was getting trounced in the later stages. Still had a ton of fun with it. Fun levels, bumpin’ music, and more girls that I’m sure will supply Art Twitter with plenty of content for the next few months.

The absolute, honest-to-god, weirdest damn episode of How It’s Made you’ll ever witness. In Slot Waste, you are in a warehouse…somewhere, being tasked with helping build…something. Several simple mini-games help peel the layers of what you’re building only to reveal those layers had 3 more onions that have even more layers. And those onions have faces. And they’re singing to you. It’s only a 30 minute romp and your mileage in terms of what you get out of this will vary tremendously, but for $2 you can install quite possibly the weirdest 3.28GB of data you can buy on Steam, and that’s saying something.

I’ll quote Demetri here to mirror this statement in a longer form: “If you haven’t played Webfishing with 10 people in voice chat while getting irresponsibly hammered and discovering that boxing gloves exist, I’m not convinced you’ve truly played Webfishing.”
An amalgamation of simple-premise fishing (press and hold to reel in, mash left-click to keep the fish on the line when prompted) mixed with tier-based trophies, trinket acquiring, money collecting, gambling, emotes, griefing, holes to The Void, royalty-free mariachi soundtracks, and more furry bait than you can shake an e621 at. All for $5, and way more hours than you will expect to play.
It has become THE single brain cell conversation game within our group. We can grab some fish, make some cash, flaunt our prizes, and catch up on our day, much like if you hauled your buds onto a boat and cast your lines in real life. This game was given to me by Demetri as a, “Well, this could be fun for New Year’s Eve just to mess around,” and has pushed AAA titles out of our rotation to make room to find that specific fish that only shows up when it’s raining and with a Squid Bait or Higher. An endless romp of fun and enjoyment that is worth every penny.
