Hola Señors and Señoritas!

Another season is upon us, which means more anime to run through and dabble with in my free time. I’m gonna give you the potential bangers and personal choices I’m feeling in the early moments of the Fall 2023 season. We got a lot of interesting anime that are usually outside my wheelhouse but I’m feeling frisky, so lets look at everything I feel is worth watching:

As always, everything is now hyperlinked to their respective MAL page. Click the images below for more info on the shows!

Back again to one of the few isekais I bother with.  To be honest, Season 2 I found to be a bit lacking, with a haphazard “big boss” cleared rather quickly and an up-and-down, can-and-went protagonist that invoked a lot less emotion than the show was expecting with their untimely demise.  But I’m interested in what they continue to do with this show, as there’s always an angle that could be interesting as long as they provide a decent antagonist to latch onto and not make every previous enemy an “enemy of my enemy is my friend” again, since Season 1’s enemies were very interesting, and now…we’re cool now?  I don’t know.  It’s weird.  Fucking Isekais, man.

My 2022 Anime of the Year finally makes its appearance in a 2023 Season List!  The Spy x Family timeline will be a busy one as Season 2 makes way to its own slice of the big screen, Spy x Family Code: White, out in December.  The continued shenanigans of Loid, Yor, and Anya are sure to continue to fire on all cylinders as the Spy/Assassin/Telepath Trio look to win all their battles, be it serious or juvenile, by all means necessary.

I will continue to try and kick the football and will gladly fly through the air in a fit of glory.  The 1st season of FLCL kick-started my love for Anime so even after the suspect 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seasons, I will run headlong into the last 3 episode sprint of FLCL’s current run.  Here’s to hoping the content we do receive is on point because the future beyond that is unknown.  Pray these notes are played well and the last chord is one to remember.

Alright, color me fucking intrigued.  Helmed by esteemed director Takashi Miike and sporting a trailer where you’ll never guess what song is featured, the newest Video Game-to-Anime adaptation pulls from the universe of Samanosuke Akechi, the Genma, and the powers of the Oni to tell a story that is sure to be fast, bloody, and powerful.  I’ve been a Takashi Miike fan for a very long time, so I’m very interested to see how he portrays Miyamoto Musashi and Co. for this series.

Man this checks so many boxes for me: Photography Interest?  Check.  Formula Racing?  Check.  Hint of a Love Story but maybe just Bros being Bros?  Check.  I’m a sucker for a good Sports anime but it’s rare to see one dip into the world of Professional Racing, which is one of my favorite sports of all.  I really hope the actual racing gets its proper time to shine alongside the character building and allowing casual fans to really see how much goes into each race: practices, qualifying, tinkering with the vehicle to get just the right adjustments, the absolute skull-crushing pressure of pulling several Gs of force and several hundred miles per hour…I could go all night.  Let me in on this.

That’s all I have for this Season! Anything else I should be watching? Let me know.
